Port Macquarie’s Matt Banting has been shown the door in the Margaret River Pro, by his round three opponent and current world number one, Matt Wilkinson.
The 21-year-old posted 4.5 and 4.77 for his best waves, in the first heat of the morning.
But it wasn’t enough to beat the Central Coast surfer, who posted a winning combined score of 12.
