MAGPIES WINGS CLIPPED

With Group 19 rugby league kicking off on April 2, the competition has suffered a blow, with Glen Innes forced to fold due to a lack of numbers.

Despite having a ladies league tag team ready to go, under competition rules, the team can’t compete without a first grade mens side.

The club is hopeful of using 2016 to rebuild, and entering again next season.

In positive news for Group 19 though, Ashford will be hosting the competition’s pre season knockout for the first time in the club’s history tomorrow.

Matches will double as selection trials for the representative team.
