Five mates are lucky to be alive following a fishing trawler crash north-west of Darwin yesterday.
The men, including two from Newcastle, were heading out on a three week fishing trip in the Kimberlys in Western Australia.
Just two hours into their trip, they were hit by a fishing trawler – the chain from the net slicing through their cabin.
A Nambucca Heads man punctured his lung and was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
