LAURIETON POLICEMAN RECEIVES NATIONAL BRAVERY AWARD

A Laurieton Police officer who risked his life to save two people and their dogs from flash flooding, has received an Australian Bravery Award.

Senior Constable Michael Dietrich was off-duty when he made the daring rescue with his son and neighbour at Bobs Creek in 2013.

Last year he received a Police Bravery Medal for the rescue, and today was awarded a Commendation for Brave Conduct at a ceremony in Canberra.
