Police are investigating two separate fatal road crashes near Newcastle overnight.
The first, just after 4.30 yesterday, involved a small sedan and a light truck on Tomago Road, near Williamtown.
The male driver of the car died.
Just after 2am, a head-on collision between a car and truck on Anderson Drive at Beresfield claimed the life of a 35-year-old man who was driving the car.
