LITTLE LENIENCY WITH EMERGENCY SPEED ZONES IN EFFECT FROM TOMORROW

Oxley Highway Patrol officers say there will be little leniency when new speeds limits around emergency services come into effect tomorrow.

Under the new laws, motorists will need to keep to 40km/h around emergency flashing lights – or risk hefty fines.

  1. This is wrong on many levels !.
    1. those who actually work work on the roads are not covered in this silly law.
    2. there is a real risk of rear end crashes if the emergency services are in a position which makes it impossible for some fools to react properly on approach to an accident scene on a blind corner, before any sort of traffic control can be set up.
    3.how on earth are those laws going to be enforced? will there be a chase vehicle to catch and book motorists ?
