POLICE APPREHEND THIEVES TARGETING MOTORBIKES IN LAKE MAQUARIE AND NEWCASTLE

Three men have been charged, accused of stealing property from a number of storage facilities in Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.

Between January 13 and February 18, a number of storage facilities were allegedly broken into, with motorbikes and motorbike gear stolen.

On Thursday, police were patrolling a storage facility at Morisset, when they noticed several units had been broken into.

Officers arrested three men, aged between 20 and 25, at the facility.

The were later charged with aggravated break and enter.

One of the men has also been charged with additional offences in relation to the alleged theft of a motorbike from a storage facility in Belmont.

All have been granted conditional bail, to appear in court at a later date.

Detectives are appealing for information into the whereabouts of two motorbikes which have been stolen including a 1997 white KTM motorcycle, and a 2006 orange KTM bearing NSW registration plates SRX37.
