DRUGS AND IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE FOUND IN CAR

A man has been charged with more than 20 offences, after drugs and an improvised explosive device were found in a car on the Central Coast.

Officers pulled over a Mitsubishi utility on Oakland Avenue at The Entrance last night, and allegedly discovered the drug ice, an IED and items believed to be used to produce counterfeit money.

Specialist officers from the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit were called to the scene to examine the device, which was later deemed safe.

A 24-year-old man was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with several offences including 10 counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, possessing an explosive in a public place and possessing a prohibited drug.
