The future of one of the Anglican Church’s landmark buildings has been decided.
The Diocesan Council has voted with an overwhelming majority to sell off Bishopscourt, in Brown Street, Newcastle.
The Anglican Diocese of Newcastle says the council considered a wide range of external expert advice in making its decision.
It’s understood growing maintenance costs may be one reason behind the sale.
