Tamworth and Moree have won cricket’s Coal Board Cup and 2TMO Cup after the Hunter Valley champions forfeited tomorrow’s matches.
Singleton and Maitland Colts claimed they couldn’t muster a side to take on the Northern Inland zone winners.
In a bid to entice the teams to travel to Tamworth for the games, Central North Zone Cricket board offered to assist with costs, but it was to no avail.
It’s hoped the matches will return to the calendar next summer.
