About 500 people attended simultaneous protest rallies in Cessnock on Sunday.
The Reclaim Australia March saw around 300 people walk through the city’s streets, converging only across the road from A Rally Against Racism.
With the potential for the protests to get ugly, police maintained a significant presence, with no major incidents.
