A Thornton shopkeeper has chased away an armed robber with a baseball bat, during an attack in Thornton.
A man in a blue hooded jumper went into the Railway Avenue news agency at about 4pm yesterday, armed with a knife.
The offender threatened the 57-year-old who grabbed a baseball bat and chased him out of the shop.
The thief ran down a laneway before fleeing in a silver ute.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It’s the third robbery on the shop in 12 months, the newsagent told NBN News he is considering closing.
