The Tamworth Business Chamber has welcomed new legislation that will give regional businesses an extra chance to benefit from the post Christmas rush.
Businesses can now choose to open on Boxing Day, if employees are willing to work.
But chamber president Lia Mahony says for many regional traders it may be a choice between extra business or family time.
“Small to medium enterprises tend to be owned witihin a family busniess. I know myself I’ve worked many a boxing day and ANZAC day afternoon, new years day, they’re all tricky times for a family.”
