Friends of Gold Coast skier Jared Coey are raising money for his family, after he was critically injured while competing in Sunday’s Bridge to Bridge classic in Grafton.
Just before the finishing line, Coey fell forward and somersaulted across the water as he and another skier were being towed by Sydney boat ‘Top Gun’.
Coey remains in an induced coma at Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Friends have launched a “Gofundme” appeal for donations to help the 27 year old, whose wife is expecting a second child.
