JAKE MAMO LEFT CONCUSSED AFTER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Ipswich player Billy McConnachie has copped a grade two contrary conduct charge, for his hit on the Knights’ Jake Mamo in the State Championship clash in Sydney.
Mamo was left with severe concussion, and the club was left fuming after the incident went unpunished during the game.
Meanwhile, coach Matt Lantry hopes to have his future at Newcastle finalised by Friday.
CEO Matt Gidley has assured the young mentor he’ll be a part of Nathan Brown’s staff next season, but at this stage, Lantry’s role is undecided.
