WEATHER UPDATE: WINTER IS COMING BACK

Winter will return tonight and the worst of the weather will be felt along the coast with strong to gale to force winds. Large, dangerous seas and swell and periods of heavy showers from Gosford to Coffs Harbour. West of the Divide things will be cold and windy but it will remain mostly fine. There will be the threat of frosts by the weekend. Snow is expected on the Barringtons with the level dropping to 1000m tomorrow.

Conditions will remain bad until Friday.
