RODWAY’S SIGHTS SET ON JAPAN 2020 OLYMPICS

Hunter BMX rider Nathaniel Rodway admits he’s too young to push for a place at the Rio Olympics, meaning Japan 2020 is now the ultimate goal.

Following his gold medal in the 15 years age group at the World Championships in July, Rodway returned home to win the state series event at Taree last month.

“Got third in my first race, then managed to win my next three races and then the final but had some tough competition.”

All this as he recovers from breaking a foot before the world titles.

“I broke one metatarsal and cracked another but the doctor said I had all the ligaments around it that should hold it together properly.”
