PUBLIC SPACES IN HARRINGTON TAKE CENTRE STAGE
Public areas in Harrington are set for a makeover, following a plan by Taree Council to make better use of its open spaces.
Around 100 community members attended a series of workshops today to have their say on the future of the sites, and there was no shortage of innovative suggestions.
“A whale watching binocular out at Crowdy Head that tourists could actually pay for and then that money could be reinvested back into the community for improvements in things like open space,” Sarah Wilkinson from Greater Taree City Council said.
Council will use the information as the basis of a master plan for the area.
