HAMPARSUM FAMILY AWARDED BROWNHILL CUP

Meanwhile, recognising farm innovation was a focus at AgQuip today.

The prestigious Brownhill Cup was awarded to Breeza farmer John Hamparsum.

His cotton and grain farm has been family-run since 1961, and he hopes to use the travel bursary to learn from the best farmers around the world.

“A prestigious award in this area so to be recognised, for our family to be recognised, yeah, I’m stoked.”

As a farmer on the Liverpool Plains, he took the opportunity to comment on the proposed Shenhua Watermark mine.

“It’s a crazy thing to do, we just cannot understand, it’s a stupid thing to do, you know what we do on our farm is about being able to pass on to the next generation.”
