New research from Diabetes New South Wales has revealed the disease is prevalent in Tamworth.
In the region there are 2057 people living with diabetes, which is the eighth highest number in the state.
In New South Wales someone is diagnosed with diabetes every 15 minutes – costing the country over $14.6-billion annually.
With National Diabetes week kicking off, Tamworth residents are now being urged to visit their GPs for a check up.
