A man has been charged with drug possession after he came to the attention of patrolling police in Newcastle’s Honeysuckle precinct around 8 o’clock last night.
Officers became suspicious of a man carrying a suitcase and on further investigation allegedly found it to contain a commercial quantity of the drugs ice and cocaine.
The 46-year-old man was taken to Newcastle police station where he was charged with supplying prohibited drugs.
He was refused bail and will appear in Newcastle local court today.
