While a lack of rain over the past 12 months has been bad news for Moree farmers, the dry weather has created perfect conditions for road works.
The final stage of the Moree Bypass is nearing completion, and it’s expected to open at the end of August.
This means the multi-million dollar project is a year ahead of schedule.
“We saw an allocation in the state budget of $3.8 million which is the remaining amount just to finish the work off, but very very exciting for the Moree community and it brings to an end one of the biggest projects that community’s seen for decades.”
