Queensland surf boat crews made their mark at the 37th annual surfcraft carnival in Coffs Harbour over the weekend.
Northcliffe took out the open men’s at Park Beach, while Kurrawa beat the best of best women’s teams.
But locals still had reason to gloat; Woolgoolga came up with the goods in the under 19 men’s.
The two day event attracted 145 surf boat crews and 185 board and ski competitors from Sydney to North Queensland.
They had to contend with trying conditions on Saturday, which saw several boats flip and a number of oars broken.
Despite the rough swell, organisers are thrilled with the turnout and will stage it at Coffs Harbour again next year.
