A police officer is in a stable condition in hospital, after being run down by a police vehicle during a pursuit north of Coffs Harbour.
A police spokesman says the 41-year-old officer was standing on the side of Solitary Islands Way, as road spikes were being deployed, when he was hit by the car .
Two females inside the car being pursued by police, allegedly ran into a nearby street, where they were then arrested.
Police say an investigation will examine the actions of the two women and how the police officer came to be struck.

I hope the officer makes a full recovery. Per suits are very dangerous and those attempting to evade police need to be dealt with harshly.
