NEW LIQUOR LAWS FOR GUNNEDAH

Gunnedah has a new liquor accord.

The local council, police, licensees and taxi operators today signed off on the agreement, which includes new legislative changes aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour.

The group also discussed a council proposal to shorten trading hours at the town’s pubs and clubs.

Mayor, Adam Marshall, says there is only one hotel in town that trades after midnight, with another two holding late night licenses.

A separate meeting will be held in three weeks to discuss the proposal.
