Tamworth cyclist Sam Spokes has today taken off on his next journey, in Turkey.
The 23-year-old will compete in the 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey on Sunday.
He’ll be up against the sport’s best, including Mark Cavendish and Tom Boonen, in the eight stage event.
The first six are sprint focused, while the final two are mountain top stages.
Spokes says he’ll be back home in time to compete in the annual Nemingha to Nundle.
