A night out in Newcastle took a violent turn for a 24-year-old man last night, when he was stabbed while walking along Hunter Street.
Police say a fight broke out between two men near the Market Street footbridge at around nine thirty last night, with one pulling out a knife and stabbing the victim in the stomach.
He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers are now calling for help to track down the man, who’s described as being in his mid 20s, with a skinny build and black hair.
