DISEASE CHECKS FOR BANANA PLANTATIONS ACROSS THE STATE

Banana plantations from the Tweed to Nambucca will soon undergo a series of checks for exotic diseases.

The New South Wales D-P-I and North Coast Local Land Services will deploy officers next week, to check for Banana Freckle and Panama disease Tropical Race Four.

It comes after a number of confirmed cases in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Growers who suspect their crops may have been affected are urged contact authorities on 1800 084 881
