URALLA SET TO LIGHT UP FOR LANTERN PARADE

It’s the annual event that sees Uralla’s night sky lit up by floating lights, and this week students from across the shire are busily preparing for the annual lantern parade.

Today around 30 students from Kingstown Primary School were creating their very own gum nut lanterns, to feature in Saturday night’s parade.

“It’s a celebration for the community, change of seasons and I think it’s also because it’s on the weekend of earth hour now , it’s also making that connection between the lanterns and candles and earth hour.

In its ninth year, the Lantern Parade will also celebrate Uralla being chosen as the first zero net energy town.
