RECONSTRUCTION OF MANNING POINT ROAD DUE TO START IN WEEKS

After federal funding for the Manning Point Road upgrade was cut in 2013, many residents thought it would never happen, but work on the project will finally begin this month.
Councillors have voted to award the tender for the $2.7-million project.
Preliminary works will begin in a few weeks time… while the reconstruction and widening of the road between Old Bar Road and Bohnock Bridge will start in April.
“The works will take approximately seven months. We expect works to be completed this side of Christmas, as long as the weather holds out.”
Stop, slow conditions will be in place throughout the construction.
The progress made possible, after Taree Council transferred funding for the Northern Gateway project to its roads and bridges.
