Police have revealed fresh allegations relating to the murder of Michael Martin in Murwillumbah.
It’s alleged his son, Michael Martin Junior, took out a life insurance policy in his father’s name just months before he was hacked to death with an axe.
Michael Martin Junior fronted Lismore local court today, facing his family for the first time since he was charged with his father’s murder.
His mother noticeably distressed by the ordeal.
“All I want is a bit of respect for our family and what we’re going through.”
The case has been adjourned until May.
