WEATHER UPDATE: FLOODING COASTAL RAIN ON THE WAY

An intense east coast low plans to hug the coast in the coming days which is likely to deliver enough rain to cause flooding.

The main area under fire will be the Northern Rivers to Mid North Coast. The Hunter will also receive heavy periods of rain with flooding also possible later in the week.

The low is going to form overnight creating strong southerly winds and large seas to develop. The low is expected to sit off the coast for at least three days increasing the chances of flooding on Wednesday.

The heavy rain will reach the eastern slopes with moderate falls on the Ranges. Some of this rain will spill over the western slopes and NW.
