Two members of the public tackled graffiti head on last night.
The men were driving along Ashmore Road when they allegedly spotted two people tagging a wall.
They managed to grab one suspect, but the other ran off.
Police were called to the scene and located spray cans nearby.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with wilful damage by graffiti and will face court later this month.
