ROYAL COMMISSION SESSIONS HELD IN NEWCASTLE THIS WEEK
The Royal Commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse will hold private sessions in Newcastle from tomorrow until Friday.
32 survivors of child sexual abuse will share their experiences, allowing the Commission to hear about the nature and prevalence of abuse.
The confidential sessions will also shed light on the tactics perpetrators use and how institutions responded or failed to respond.
Nationally, about 1400 people are now on the Commission’s waiting list to give their personal account.
And if you were sexually abused as a child while in the care of an institution, you can share your story with the Royal Commission by calling 1800 099 340.
