Veteran rock star Angry Anderson has withdrawn from the race for the state seat of Cessnock, citing personal reasons.
The 67-year-old was running for the Nationals, and says he still passionately supports the party, and will stand shoulder to shoulder with whoever is selected to fight for the area.
The National Party says it will move to select a new candidate immediately.
