MICK SPENCER CLAIMS HIS FOURTH CATHO CLASSIC CROWN

Wave selection proved crucial for Lake Munmorah’s Mick Spencer this afternoon, as he claimed his fourth Catho Classic open men’s title.
The 26-year-old found plenty of workable waves in the small conditions, to dominate the six-man final.
Having recently started as a full-time lifeguard at Catherine Hill Bay, James McMorland finished second, showcasing the moves that earned him a wildcard for last year’s main event at Surfest.
Catho Board Riders life member Josh Moore used his local knowledge to good effect, to round out the top three.
