EXPRESS PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR ASIAN CUP

Newcastle Council is encouraging those heading to Asian Cup games to use public transport, to minimise parking and traffic congestion at Hunter Stadium.

Express buses will begin tomorrow for the city’s first game, between Japan and Palestine.

“There’s been a lot of work going into the transport plan and we’re very pleased for the first time ever Newcastle has what we call integrated ticketing, so if you’ve bought a ticket to the match then your transport is free.”

Buses will run every 10 minutes from three designated hubs – Wallsend Plaza, Westfield Kotara and Newcastle Station.
