WORK BEGINS ON NUMBER ONE OVAL

Tamworth’s important cricket clash, with Cessnock on Sunday is in jeopardy, after last night’s storm.

The teams are due to meet in the Country Shield quarter final, but Number One Oval requires extensive work to make it playable.

Tamworth District Cricket Association had the roller out today in a bid to dry out the surface, with the covers to remain on the pitch until match day.

Riverside Two is being prepared as an alternative venue.
