TAMWORTH’S BOWLERS SEIZE THE DAY

Moree was on top early against Tamworth in the second round of the Connolly Cup, with the home side struggling at two for 55.

The visitors’ grip on the match tightened when Richie O’Halloran was dismissed by James Martin-Utzi.

While Ryan Kemp had Tamworth reeling at four for 60 when he clean bowled Campbell Baker.

Adam Penman was next to the crease – his 42 run effort led the home side to 173.

A Troy Osborne six-wicket haul saw the home side defend its meagre total.

In the Western Conference’s other match, Narrabri chased down Gunnedah’s 134.

In the Northern Conference, Inverell destroyed Armidale, while Shawn Mepham’s double century saw Glen Innes claim victory.
