Former Macksville local and test cricketer, Phil Hughes, has been rushed to hospital after being struck in the head by a bouncer at the SCG.
Hughes was playing with South Australia in its Sheffield Shield clash against New South Wales, when he was hit.
The batsman apparently collapsed face first onto the pitch seconds after he was struck by a delivery from Sean Abbott.
He was taken from the field on a medicab and treated by paramedics before a helicopter arrived.
