BOOMERANGS HONOURED
Group 19 premiers, the Moree Boomerangs, have taken out the National Good Sports Award.
The achievement recognises the club’s attempt to promote a healthy lifestyle through a reduction in alcohol consumption and quitting smoking.
The Boomerangs received a $2,000 prize, and the award represents how far the club has come since being removed from Group 19 in 1997 for repeated incidents of alcohol-fuelled violence.
2014 also marked the final season of a five year good behaviour bond.
