MIAMI BAG SNATCHER ALLEGEDLY USED BROTHER’S NAME IN COURT

There’s been a bizarre twist in the case of an alleged Miami bag snatcher.

The accused- arrested on Tuesday, after a 58 year old amputee was attacked- is alleged to have given police a false name, adopting the identity of his brother William Lethern.

The real accused, Christian Lethern, faced Court yesterday, under his younger brother’s name.

Neither his lawyer, the Prosecutor nor the Magistrate were aware of the mix-up.

Last night, Watchhouse staff clued-on.

This morning, the robbery charge against William was struck out, police confirming he had no involvement in the incident.

Christian is now facing charges of robbery and serious assault on police.

He’ll be back in court tomorrow, and may face a charge of perverting the course of justice.
