A group of motorcycle riders swapped two wheels for aprons this morning, to serve breakfast to Newcastle’s disadvantaged.
The Longriders Christian Motorcycle Club not only donated its time, but more than $6,000 to Soul Cafe, which provides meals to the needy, free of charge.
“We choose a different charity every year and this year we picked out Soul Cafe because of the work they do within the community. It’s that important, if that place were to shut down the community would really know about it.”
The proceeds were raised at the club’s annual bike show, which was held last month at Swan Bay.
