One person has died, and two others are fighting for life after a head-on collision between two ford falcons on the Kamilaroi Highway near Quirindi this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene two kilometres north of Taylors Lane at about 2pm.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew one male passenger with serious injuries to Tamworth Hospital.
The road was closed in both directions, while the crash investigation unit worked to determine the cause of the crash.
