GREENS RELEASE PLAN TO CREATE 14,000 JOBS

With pre-polling open for the October 25 by-elections in Newcastle and Charlestown, the promises are coming thick and fast.

The Greens have released a plan they say will help create 14,000 Hunter jobs.

“It’s about restoring funding for education and skills based training at tafe and creating those jobs across transport, manufacturing, housing and the clean energy economy,” said Greens candidate for Newcastle, Michael Osbourne.

While Charlestown candidate Jane Oakley says, “taking advantage of the CSIRO and the Newcatsle University, partnering with the local councils utlising the existing manufacturing expertise locally we can see Newcastle and the Hunter Valley become a global leader in renewable energy.”
