BROADMEADOW TRAINERS TAKE AIM AT THE METRO MEETINGS

With Broadmeadow’s biggest week of racing wrapped up, local trainers have turned their attention to metropolitan meetings.
Kris Lees will send Lucia Valentina to Melbourne tomorrow to prepare for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup.
“Next Saturday she’ll run in the Turnbull Stakes 2000 at Flemington, traditionally a good lead in to the Caulfield Cup.”
Lees has never had a runner in the $3-million race.
“She’ll only have 3 lead up runs into a Cup, but she’s a light framed filly and I think it’s the right preparation for her.”
Meanwhile Paul Perry will send Modoc and Scratch Me Lucky to Rosehill tomorrow for the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes.
Scone trainer Paul Messara has the favourite in Scissor Kick.
