An elderly driver has died when his car was involved in a head-on collision on the Pacific Highway south of Newcastle this morning.
The crash, between a small sedan and a four-wheel-drive towing a caravan, closed the highway at North Belmont for several hours.
The 80-year-old driver of the sedan died on his way to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.
