The 20-year-old swam her way to victory in the 50 metre butterfly.

Richmond River girl Jacqueline Freney continues to excell in the pool at the London Paralympics.

The swimmer secured a gold medal in the fifty metre butterfly this morning… It comes after she smashed the 100 metre backstroke paralympic record yesterday, and she’s thrilled

“The Gold medal is always just a bonus. I’m really happy to get my second gold at the meet and it’s just been a fantastic meet for me.”

She’s yet to tackle her strongest event……. the 400 metre freestyle, she’s looking good to take home more medals than she expected.

Her confidence is beaming but she’s looking forward to some well earned rest before her next race.

“I have a huge confidence boost leading into my two hundred metremedly. I have a rest tomorrow morning and afternoon so I can just hang around the village and get my sleep.”

She will now take on the 200 metre individual medly around 2.30am Australian Eastern Standard Time tomorrow morning.
