The State Government could be forced to issue Metgasco a $15 million payout after putting a halt to drilling operations in Bentley earlier this year.
Energy Minister Anthony Roberts suspended drilling operations in May due to a lack of community consultation, but due to significant share price falls and loss of investment Metgasco is seeking compensation.
A judicial review of the decision has been filed with the Supreme Court and it’s possible Metgasco could be awarded the multi-million dollar pre-court settlement.
