Around 20 volunteers will work through the night to stabilise a dolphin found stranded on Redhead Beach this morning.
The dolphin has been moved to the calmer water of Third Creek Lagoon where it will be cared for overnight by volunteers.
Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia (ORRCA) says while the 3.5-metre mammal suffered superficial wounds, it was generally healthy.
ORRCA volunteers will work through the night and would welcome the loan of blankets and torches.
